The Pinnacle to host inaugural Bristol Brew & BBQ Music Festival April 18th

The region’s premier shopping complex will make this year’s race week prior to the Food City 500 the best ever. In addition to record-setting store openings, The Pinnacle will host the first-ever Bristol Brew & BBQ Music Festival beginning at 6 p.m. on April 18th.

“We want to show our appreciation to the region and to race fans from all over who have made The Pinnacle, and Bristol, such a success,” says The Pinnacle developer, Steve Johnson. “We also want to demonstrate how The Pinnacle can go beyond shopping and dining, and be a catalyst for entertainment.”

Johnson’s vision for a massive retail complex covering 250 acres was realized last fall with the opening of Bass Pro Shop. In March, The Pinnacle welcomed the region’s largest Belk store, followed by the opening of the region’s only Marshalls and Versona stores, as well as many more in a short window of only 30 days. The grand openings of several retailers set company-wide records for attendance or in sales.

More stores, such as Michael’s, Pier 1, Jersey Mike’s, Boot Barn, GNC, Johnny Brusco’s and many more will be open in time to serve race fans.

The Bristol Brew & BBQ Music Festival will begin at 6 p.m. on April 18th with top regional craft breweries, local BBQ, two bands and a massive fireworks display set for 9 p.m.

The event will be held on a site between the new Belk and the construction of a new 12-screen movie theater that will open in September. Those attending the event will pay for beer and BBQ and be treated to the free concert and fireworks display.

Regional craft breweries Johnson City Brewing Company, Sleepy Owl and Studio Brew will each share several varieties of their best beers. Holston Distributing Company will also provide traditional beers. Two local BBQ companies, Backyard BBQ and Hog Whisperer, will have meals available for purchase.

At 7 p.m. Nashville Independent Music Awards Artist of the Year, Best Country Male Vocalist, and Best Country Live Performer, Billy Dawson (http://www.billydawsonmusic.com), will take to The Pinnacle stage. Following Dawson’s performance, the music will continue from the country rock group, Fairfield Union.

At 9 p.m., The Pinnacle will ignite a 20-minute fireworks display that will be seen for miles around the giant complex to celebrate the Food City 500, set for Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway.

“We are out to make The Pinnacle the shopping, dining and entertainment destination for a 100-mile radius of Bristol,” says Johnson. “I invite race fans and folks of the region to visit The Pinnacle any time, and especially during race week and our first-ever Bristol Brew & BBQ Music Festival and Fireworks.”

The Pinnacle is located off I-81 at Exit 74B in Bristol, Tennessee. For more information on the retailers and the events of The Pinnacle, visit www.ThePinnacle.com and on Twitter and Facebook.
