(Bristol, Tenn.) – Bristol race fans are accustomed to seeing some pretty big fireworks ON the track, but now the area’s premier shopping destination, The Pinnacle, will put on a fireworks show OFF the track that will rival anything previously seen in the area during race week.
“Our objective is to give consumers a shopping, dining and entertainment venue that’s a one-of-a-kind experience from Whitesburg, Kentucky, to Roanoke; Asheville, North Carolina, to Morristown; and all parts in between,” says Steve Johnson, President of Bristol-based Johnson Commercial Development, the firm that is the developer of The Pinnacle. “This is an exciting time at The Pinnacle with so many new stores opening; we feel it’s a great opportunity to treat our guests, as well as area residents, who are in town for the race to something special – like a one-of-a-kind fireworks display to introduce them to our complex.”
At 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 18th, The Pinnacle will spark a fireworks display that will be seen for miles around the massive complex to celebrate the Food City 500, set for Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway.
The show will be a production of LaFollette, Tennessee’s Pyro Shows, a company known for its massive and unique fireworks displays. The company has made many of your favorite sporting events even more exciting with fireworks at Bristol Motor Speedway, Tennessee Titans games and UT basketball games. And now they will light up the sky at the region’s new favorite shopping destination.
The Pinnacle is home to the region’s largest Belk store, a giant Bass Pro Shop, and the region’s only Marshalls. In addition to the anchor stores, retailers such as Michael’s, Versona, Boot Barn, Kirkland’s, Shoe Carnival, Pier 1 Imports, Jersey Mike’s, GNC, Johnny Brusco’s, and Bed Bath & Beyond recently opened their doors to shoppers. The Pinnacle currently hosts nearly 450,000 square feet of retail shopping.
By the fall of 2015, when the new Pinnacle 12 by Marquee Cinemas opens, the total square footage of retail and entertainment space at the development will reach 500,000 square feet.
